Frommer's With Your Family series introduces two local titles - Devon & Cornwall and Ireland

Devon_cornwall_wyf Ireland_wyf To be published in April 2008

Just in time for the Easter school holidays, Frommer’s UK is launching two new titles for holidays close to home in its With Your Family collection. The launch of Devon and Cornwall With Your Family and Ireland With Your Family reflects the increasing trend UK families to take their cars on holiday and reduce their ‘green’ footprint.

Written by local authors, Sue Viccars and Terry Marsh & Dennis Kelsall, respectively,  who understand the needs and wants of British families on holiday, the guides give up-to-date information on the best family-friendly accommodation, attractions and events. The With Your Family range provides inside information as well as trivia to help family holidays come alive for the children. By including ‘finds’ known only to the locals such as Somerset’s Lowtrow Cross Inn, a converted 17th century working farm which now serves as a family friendly pub, as well as ‘overrated’ activities that are not worth the time or money spent, parents can be sure they are getting the most out of their family holiday.

The guides also highlight ‘green’ accommodation and attractions, indicating responsible tourism practices like Pollaughan Cottages in Cornwall with its own vegetable patch where visitors can help themselves to fresh vegetables.

The With Your Family guides also feature an introductory chapter dedicated to Family Highlights giving a brief insight into how best to go about planning a family trip. Being aimed exclusively at young families, the pages are packed with useful information not found in the usual guidebooks, including recommended ages for attractions and advice on baby services and child-friendly policies.
