Explore The Med's Hidden Treasures this summer with Frommer's 3 new With Your Family titles

Greek_islands_wyf Tuscany_umbria_wyf Provence_cote_dazur_wyf To be published by Wiley - April 2008

From a café in Vieux Nice running pottery workshops for children to an ice cream stop in Umbria offering the best gelato in the unlikeliest of spots, discover the Mediterranean’s best-kept secrets this summer with Frommer’s three new With Your Family guides to the region. The new Tuscany & Umbria With Your Family, Greek Islands With Your Family, and Provence & the Cote d’Azur With Your Family are exciting additions to this innovative collection of guidebooks showing the growing vogue of UK families to tailor-make their holidays and explore destinations the way locals do.

Written by British authors, the new guidebooks understand the needs of UK families and present in-depth and up to date information on the best family-friendly accommodation, dining, attractions, events and unknown treasures. The Frommer’s With Your Family titles provide lots of images and unique insider tips, ‘finds’ and fun facts known only to locals, giving indispensable insights into the region. Indulge in Greek specialities at the Skeloydi Taverna in Corfu overlooking the famous Theotokou Monastery – it has one of the most spectacular settings of any taverna on the island – or head to Loutra Edipsou beach in Evia where all the Greek holidaymakers take their kids – it is long famous for its healing spa waters.

What’s more, all advice and activities are tried and tested to ensure a fun and stress-free family holiday. Places that are likely to disappoint in terms of time and money are labelled ‘overrated’ such as the hugely advertised Acqua Village waterpark in Central Tuscany described as tatty, whilst great ‘value’ things to do are also emphasised.

The guides further highlight the importance of sustainability and the environment by providing the top family wildlife experiences and including ‘green’ accommodation and attractions such as an eco-friendly tree-house style B&B and children’s paradise in Provence.

The With Your Family range features a handy introductory chapter dedicated to Family Highlights giving a brief insight into how best to go about planning your trip. Being aimed exclusively at young families, the pages are packed with useful information not found in the usual guidebooks including recommended ages for attractions and advice on baby services and child-friendly policies.
