About the authors

Sarah Robbins (Muncie, IN) teaches university writing classes using Second Life. Her research on virtual worlds has been featured in The New York Times, The Chronicle of Higher Education, and USAToday. She is a founder of the Second Life Researchers Group and an active member of the Second Life Educators Group. She and her class live on Middletown island, funded by the Center for Media Design at Ball State. Sarah also consults with businesses as a project manager designing, developing, and marketing their presence in Second Life.

Mark Bell (Muncie, IN) is a doctoral candidate at Indiana University. He's a founding member of the Second Life Researchers Group and an active resident of Second Life, where he performs research into cultural studies and identity
