About the authors
Dr. Sarah Brewer is a freelance health writer and broadcaster who was named Health Journalist of the Year in 2002. She regularly appears on various TV shows including, BBC Breakfast, GMTV, This Morning, The Time The Place and UK Living and regularly takes part in radio interviews on a variety of health subjects. She is the contributing Health Editor for Marie Claire and regularly contributes to a variety of newspapers and magazines including the Daily Telegraph, Daily Express, Prima, Sugar, Natural Health & Well Being and Top Sante. Sarah is the adapting author of Arthritis For Dummies and Thyroid For Dummies, Menopause For Dummies and is currently completing an MSc in nutritional medicine at the University of Surrey.

Alan Rubin, MD, is a diabetes expert, and has been in private practice specialising in diabetes and thyroid disease for over 25 years. He has spoken about diabetes to professional medical audiences and nonmedical audiences around the world. He has been a consultant to many pharmaceutical companies and companies that make diabetes products. He is the author of Thyroid For Dummies and High Blood Pressure For Dummies.

Alison Acerra, RD, is a registered dietician/ consultant. She specialises in weight management and diabetes prevention and management

Chef Denise Sharf created many of the breakfast, lunch and appetiser recipes in this book. She has received accreditation as a Certified Chef de Cuisine. She is a retired personal chef, and has held positions as an executive chef and chef de garde manger for several major hotel chains and restaurants. Chef Sharf has achieved recognition as a culinary competitor, judge, and presenter of seminars
